On July 9th, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism held a regular press conference for the second quarter of 2025. At the meeting, Wei Lizhong, Deputy Director of the Resource Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, answered questions from reporters regarding the work related to promoting the strengthening of quality management, improving service levels, enhancing tourism safety, and optimizing the tourism environment in tourist attractions.
Wei Lizhong introduced that one is to strengthen the quality level management of tourist attractions. Taking quality level recognition and review as the focus of work, and implementing a scenic spot level management of "entry and exit", we aim to promote the improvement of service quality, strengthen safety management, enrich product formats, and optimize the tourism environment in A-level tourist attractions. In 2024, a total of 229 A-level tourist attractions will have their quality levels downgraded or cancelled. Among them, 77 national 4A level tourist attractions will have their quality levels downgraded or cancelled, and 1 national 5A level tourist attraction will have its quality level downgraded. In addition, 4 national 5A level tourist attractions will be criticized and given a deadline for rectification. This year, in conjunction with the newly revised national standard for the classification of quality levels of tourist attractions, we will always focus on the service quality, safety management, tourist experience, cultural tourism integration, and other aspects of tourist attractions, and promote the continuous increase of quality level review efforts for A-level tourist attractions in various regions.
The second is to promote the strengthening of open management in tourist attractions. Classify and guide tourist attractions in various regions to strengthen open management, make good use of traffic big data from online tourism platforms and traffic navigation platforms, analyze and judge the popularity of tourist attractions in advance, and timely issue tourist attraction traffic warning prompts and work requirements to various regions before peak tourism periods such as holidays; Urge popular tourist attractions to take measures to improve entry convenience, travel comfort, and smooth exit, strengthen internal traffic organization and route design, and carry out safety hazard investigation and rectification. In response to the current peak season of summer tourism, the Resource Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will actively promote the strengthening of open management of tourist attractions in various regions, implement upgrading guidance for 70 popular tourist attractions, supervise and guide popular tourist attractions to implement appointment management during peak tourism periods, improve appointment platforms, publish appointment information, optimize appointment processes, and strengthen on-site passenger flow guidance and service guarantees.
The third is to implement the action of strengthening the foundation and revitalizing tourist attractions. In the new stage, tourist attractions should not only consolidate the foundation of safety production and effective management, but also achieve new supply, updated facilities, innovative management, intelligent innovation, and fresh environment. To this end, we are promoting the implementation of tourism scenic spot revitalization actions in various regions, enriching product supply according to local conditions, improving tourism elements around "food, accommodation, transportation, tourism, shopping and entertainment", enhancing tourism experience, and expanding consumption scenarios. Encourage the promotion of intangible cultural heritage in scenic areas, encourage tourist attractions to cultivate characteristic cultural and creative products, create immersive tourism experience new spaces and scenes, explore and display the splendid scenery, Chinese aesthetics, and colorful intangible cultural heritage in scenic areas, strengthen the micro transformation and refinement of scenic landscape and service facilities, enhance the recognition and brand awareness of tourist attractions, improve the convenience, safety, and comfort of scenic areas, showcase the beauty of tourism with the beauty of scenic areas, better meet the increasingly diverse tourism needs of the people through the revitalization and development of scenic areas, and better promote the high-quality development of the tourism industry.
