On September 19th, according to data from China Railway Urumqi Group Co., Ltd., on September 17th, the Y913 "Tianshan" tourist train carrying nearly 150 tourists slowly departed from Urumqi Station, embarking on a 10 day journey to the beautiful Xinjiang. This year, the railway department has operated over 300 tourist trains in Xinjiang, including 240 inbound tourist trains, a year-on-year increase of 90.5%.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The cultural and tourism industry in Xinjiang has flourished, with rich cultural and tourism activities in Urumqi, Aksu, Kashgar and other places, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists to travel by train to Xinjiang. Tourist trains such as the "Panda Express Chengdu" and "Zhongyuan Railway Dahe South" departing from 24 provinces (autonomous regions and cities) across the country to Xinjiang have enriched the supply of tourism products and promoted the development of Xinjiang's tourism economy.
In order to ensure the operation of tourist trains, the railway department has accurately drawn train operation maps. The third quarter train operation map implemented on July 1st this year added 18 new routes for inbound and domestic tourist trains, covering major tourist hotspots throughout Xinjiang. At the same time, we will strengthen transportation organization, optimize arrival and departure times, and enhance the capacity of key section trains to pass through. On June 26th, Xinjiang operated 33 tourist trains in a single day, setting a new historical high.
In terms of train operation, the Urumqi Bureau Group Company has established an information notification mechanism for 9 stations, strengthened logistics support for stations along the line, built emergency linkage mechanisms, and linked with scenic spots and hotels to provide "one-stop" services, achieving "fast travel and slow travel".
Passenger services are also continuously improving. The railway department is intensifying efforts to renovate train bodies and organizing cultural and artistic activities to enhance travel experiences. Aging friendly trains such as the "Shentie Holiday Express" are helping the silver haired generation travel. Urumqi Bureau Group Company is creating special activities, equipped with nursing supplies, and launching aging friendly catering.
In addition, Urumqi Railway Bureau Group Company is actively expanding new channels for the integration of "railway+cultural tourism". By combining scheduled trains with tourist trains, it is building a fast railway transportation circle in Xinjiang and achieving "one-stop direct access" to some popular tourist cities; Genealogy based operation of characteristic tourism trains, combined with seasonal and folk customs to operate various special trains; Carefully build benchmark passenger stations to showcase the scenery and railway culture of Xinjiang.
